Capture focused on exploring the ways in which digital technology could be used in coexistance with ceramic craft. Could it enhance or promote craft by providing a new perspective? Rachel explores this topic through mixed media including 3d scanning, video and 2d scanning.

This work documents my comparison of a traditional ceramic process with a digital production process, asking what separates these processes from each other, and can this digital process be called a craft?

This body of work was created using a Delta Wasp Clay Extruder at iMakr, a 3d printing facilitative company and was exhibited at New Designers 2018.  21st Century Ceramicist was both long-listed for Creative Unions at London Design Week 2018 and nominated for the MullenLowe NOVA Award 2018 for fresh creative talent.
