RA Alevel Summer Exhibition Online
2013
In 2013 Rachel's work was selected to be part of the Royal Academy of Arts 'A-level Summer Exhibition Online'. The RA also chose her title to represent the whole 2013 A-level exhibition.
'Re-laced' came about through Rachel's enthusiasm for Light and Space as well as an interest in the renewal/alteration of purpose. After finding a discarded pair of shoes Rachel took influence from Rachel Whiteread and David Nash to thoughtfully arrange her found objects in an attempt change the perspective the once practical, but now sculptural trainers were viewed from.
